Can you believe we are at the end of November 2019? I can. A lot has happened this year and mostly good! I am really happy about all of the things in life that have been accomplished in 2019. What were some of your highlights? Here are mine:
- In the process of building out MPrint Boutique
- Landed an opportunity to work in another position in Corporate America while building my dream simultaneously
- Traveled with Family & Friends
- Renewed my relationship with God
- Created a blog aesthetic that I absolutely love
- Received over 700k monthly views on Pinterest for my blog
- Got a new pup…Hey Barkaus!
Although there is a lot I accomplished this year I am far from done. There are so many items I want to complete by the end of this year and I already have projects drafted up for next year as well. One of the MAJOR things I want to do is a complete renovation of my home. We have a 3 bedroom 2 bath and I am hoping to use it as rental income here in the next two years. Until then, I would like to create a home we love creating memories in. I would have completed it this year, but a store/office renovation at the same time as redoing my home…no thanks. I totally know my limitations and that would have been a disaster. In the meantime I have been creating some awesome boards on Pinterest to reflect how I want my newly renovated home to look.
So here’s the thing. I don’t make New Year’s Resolutions…and truth be told, I never REALLY have. I however consistently take some time to reflect on the things that happened in the previous year, and draft out a plan to improve those situations, or add a list of new ideas and tasks I want to accomplish.
I know this next part is going to sound crazy…but go with me here. Do you guys believe in Manifestation or speaking your dreams into reality? At first I was not a believer then I saw this wonderful thing at work. I started creating vision boards on my phone, posters, etc. and guess what? Some pretty dope things began to happen in my life. One night at work I was listening to Steve Harvey on YouTube and he was talking about making a list of 300 things you want to happen in your life. He also explained you should be very specific of what it is you’re asking God for. Then he quoted a scripture which stated “You have not, because you ask not.” And I think that is 100% true. So many times we think that by asking God for certain things it’s silly, or not worth His time. Atleast I know I did. But now I am making it very plain and clear as to what it is I want for my life. I look at it like this: God is my father. He will not grant me anything I desire that will actually do harm to me. I trust Him with everything I have. So if I ask for something, and it does not happen…I know it was not in my best interest and HE saw that.
3 Ways to Have a Successful New Year
Check out this list and I will explain more below:
- Create a Blessing list of 100-300 Specific Items
- Consistently Write in your Planner
Moving on to this list. I know 300 items on what we will call your Blessing List is a lot. I am only at number 40 and to be honest I am struggling to make it to 100. Mine probably won’t go all the way to 300 because that is not really what I want at this point in my life. I would rather have 100 items that have true meaning to me than space fillers. I have been working on my list off and on for two days now. You don’t have to use pen and paper. There are digital ways to create your list like Evernote. This tool is my personal fave because I always have it with me. It is on the desktop of both my computers and also my phone. If I think of ideas while I am out or just sitting in my bed I can open up the app and add it to my Blessing List. They also have check boxes so once the items on your list come true, you can check them off one by one.
The general idea of this is to organize your thoughts and the things you want in one place. It takes a lot to write down what you want to accomplish, who you want to be, etc. But as I stated before I am a full believer in putting those desires out into the Universe, praying, and meditating on them every morning.
If you notice the “Success” list contains budgeting. Did you really think you could come here and we not discuss money?! Yeah right lol. ESPECIALLY if you are an Entrepreneur or aspiring Entrepreneur it is so important for you to pay attention to this part. You need to budget your money. I want you to have a good life, successful business, travel, etc. But understand that as someone who is building, you are going to have to navigate your finances differently than those who solely have a 9-5. I myself have to do this as well. Some major items on my list next year are: the completion of MPrint buildout, renovating my home, and 10 year wedding anniversary with my husband. I had to sit down and prioritize what was important to me, and then discuss it with Markaus.
The truth is my kids are getting older and my eldest child is 13 years old. I want to create memories with her through family trips and spending a lot of my summer focused on time with the kids. So our family vacation is on the list of travels that have to occur next year and going forward. Simply because they are important to me.
There are going to be surprises because there ALWAYS are when it comes to our money. Make sure you plan the best you can to invest in your business and living life.

The last piece of this success puzzle is writing in your Planner and being consistent. I have to admit that I am a hoarder of planners and I have one for MPrint, Blogging, and other random work related info, and a separate one for my personal life. Sunday evening is usually when I plan out Blog posts, Tailwind Schedule, Facebook posts, YouTube content, etc. My personal Planner includes bills, appointments, spiritual/worship notes, trip info and all the other fun stuff you can imagine. I enjoy having Planners because they keep me on track for what I need to do for the day. I can also prioritize what is most important to get completed and what can marinate for a bit if you will.
I hope this post provides you with the keys to success you need for the new year coming up. Drop some comments below about what you hope to accomplish for the new year. As awlays…
