The Heart of the Home
Last year we sold our home of 12 years in 4 days. Yes you heard me right 4 days! We saw that the market was booming and capitalized off the hopes of being able to sell quickly. With that being said we needed to find somewhere to live ASAP. We did not have a lot of time so we decided on a townhome that was within close proximity of the kids’ new schools.
A major selling point for me was the fact that the kitchen came with an exceptional amount of storage, the kitchen island was huge, and I got to experience life with a walk-in pantry, which has been a dream within itself. Ofcourse I had big plans for organizing the pantry to my specifications, and that is still a work in progress.
The Story of the Chairs
I was super excited to start furnishing my new home. We made the decision not to bring a lot of our previous furniture over from the other house so we could have a fresh new start. I purchased new beds for me and my husband’s bedroom, and the kids all got new beds. After we realized our enormous couch would in fact fit in our new home, it was time to move on to the kitchen seating. The particular model of our townhome does not have traditional dedicated seating. The only in kitchen seating available is at our counter-top island. I was so eager to purchase chairs that I did not pay attention to the details. The chairs I had originally picked out were actually for barstool seating, not counter-height. And to be quite honest, I kind of hated them because they were not a true reflection of my style.
Luckily I was able to sell them on Facebook Marketplace in one day. My husband and I went to three different Home Decor Stores and we were in need of 6 counter height chairs. No one had what we needed, and quite frankly it seemed like a lot of stores still were unable to keep up with demands post Covid. I mentioned in a previous post there are some items you buy on Amazon, and some you just need in person. This was an in person experience for sure.
After a trip to the bank I had an epiphany and decided to try out Target to see if they had what I was looking for. The style I wanted was modern and sleek, I like a bit of a masculine touch to my designs so this fit the bill. I was able to snag all 6 chairs and they were ready within 2 hours for pick up! To say I was excited was an understatement. Needless to say we had all six chairs put together and ready to go within no time. These are also super comfortable. Often I will sit here and work without moving for hours lol.
Beautiful Dual Air Fryer
I will have to admit this is my second Air Fryer from Ms. Drew Barrymore’s line. We wore our first one out and it lasted for a while, but it was over all too soon. The Air Fryer I had previous to this one was just one chamber. This one is dual sided and I am absolutely loving it. One of the items I am looking forward to making is a small rotisserie chicken. So stand by for the recipe once I am done perfecting it. One of the things I enjoy the most about our Air Fryer is safety. I feel better with the kids using this to pop chicken tenders and fries into it than the oven, or the stove. It is also great for quick seafood meals like Tilapia, Salmon, and Shrimp to name a few.
Probably the area that gets the most foot traffic in my family of 5. I am in love with this pantry. Sadly I haven’t had the time to build it out, and organize it to my specifications. And also I don’t have a Container Store nearby or this would have been done already. I am hoping to take some time to dedicate towards building out each individual section. I want a location for snacks, beverages, pastas, etc. I already have an area for the canned goods, I am just deciding if I am going to put them on those organizational shelves, or leave them be.
